On January 31st, 2024, teams from China and Qatar customs conducted an on-site AEO certification and inspection in Jushi. Talal Al-Shaibi, Operations and Risk Management Director at the General Authority of Customs, Qatar, Zhu Fang, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Management and Inspection at the General Administration of Customs of China, and leaders and other certification team members from Hangzhou municipal customs and Jiaxing municipal customs participated in the certification and inspection process. 

Ding Chengche, Vice President and senior management representative for customs affairs in Jushi, and some managers of departments engaging in import and export activities of the company also attended the certification process.

The certification and inspection activity this time forms an important part of the AEO mutual recognition cooperation between customs authorities of China and Qatar. It’s also the first of its kind that Jushi receives a foreign customs team for site inspection since being selected as the only enterprise in Jiaxing municipality to be included in the first batch of national AEO international mutual recognition list in 2022. 

Such process plays a positive role for Qatar customs to better understand China’s customs and enterprises in terms of AEO management and implementation, and helps speed up the AEO mutual recognition between China and Qatar. Once the mutual recognition is achieved, with the benefit of the customs clearance convenience provided by China and Qatar customs, it is expected to further reduce the trade costs in ports and logistics, accelerate the expansion of overseas markets for enterprises, and further enhance international competitiveness.
